NEW RICHMOND -- Elga Whipple, 71, died suddenly at 11 p.m. Thursday at his home in New Richmond. Whipple retired 20 years ago from R. R. Donnelley & Sons Co. in Crawfordsville. Since his departure from Donnelleys he had been self-employed as a handyman. He attended the New Richmond Methodist Church. The deceased was also a member of the New Richmond Masonic Lodge, and by virtue of his World War I service, a member of the American Legion post in New Richmond. Whipple is survived by a brother, Virgil Whipple, and two sisters, Mrs. Stella Harriman and Mrs. Elsie LaFoe, all of Crawfordsville. Services are set for 1 p.m. Sunday at the Helms Funeral Home in Linden with Rev. Richard Reahard in charge. Masonic services are set for 8 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the Linden Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday.
